Project Rooftop Spider-Man 1

For the Project Rooftop ‘Spider-Man: Web-Head 2.0’ contest. I’m not any sort of professional artist, but redesigning costumes is still kind of fun. Just try to imagine it drawn by someone more skilled than I am!

I am sticking with the convention that Spider-Man completely covers up—you can’t tell whether it is PP or MM under the mask. I am also assuming he has access to unstable molecules so there is no need for belts, seams, or other decoration. So mostly this is my attempt at a refinement or simplification of the classic costume.

The big difference (apart from goggles over the mask) is the more glove-like treatment of his feet (I remember the newspaper version, where his sticking power did not work through shoes). Reducing the red part of the gloves and boots to the fingers, toes, palms and soles highlights his wall-crawling talent. Sometimes wearing a second set of (night-vision) goggles for a more spidery look is mere affectation.
